Problems with Install Error 1327?

The most common type of error 1327 to be experienced is the install or installer error 1327. It can get so bad that you literally are not able to install new programs. For business users this can be down right terrible. Beyond just installation it sometimes will prevent users from uninstalling existing applications also. The problem usually begins within your computer registry. In laymans terms, your registry is telling your computer that an installation file is located on an invalid drive. If you're running into these problems I highly fixing them sooner than later.

Here's a few circumstances that sometimes lead to the install error 1327:

Removing/adding an external harddrive.

Installing games or content from a CD rom.

After having computer maintenance done (hard drive swaps etc.)


How to Fix Error 1327


At the end of the day, if you cannot install or uninstall programs you are probably at a dead end. This error basically locks up your computer. Unfortunately, there are only two ways to fix it: either editing your registry manually or using one of the free error scanners like the one I included above.
